Shirley T here is on a soundstage, because that hat is
not warming anybody's head when it's 40 below.
That being said, just because it's too cold for polar bears doesn't mean there aren't ways to look your best!
1) Get a coat with a fitted waist.
I mean, it's not like a bandage dress to flaunt your curves,
but it 's a lot cuter than wearing a sleeping bag with sleeves.
2) Layer your tights with more tights. Possibly with fleece-lined tights.
Tights + more tights = supertights.
Also, warmer legs.
3) Boots will get you through all this. Thick soles are important.
The thicker the souls, the further your feet are from the cold ground.
Also, the closer to God. Apparently.
4) Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.
I don't care if you "don't like hats." This cute furry earflap hat will keep you warm AND make you look cute AND if you have blue eyes, it will make them pop.
Get the gloves with the magic touchpad fingers. That way you can play with your iPhone while waiting for the bus, without risking frostbite AND while rocking some nautical stripes.
Add a cute scarf and channel your inner Mindy Kaling and her amaze winterwear wardrobe from The Mindy Project. Go on, you know you want to.
Mindy Kaling, the patron saint of adorable outerwear.
5) Frugal tip: buy things on sale.
Remember when I told you about how the nautical stuff goes on sale at the end of January? SO DOES THE CUTE WINTER STUFF. Stores are getting rid of their winter stuff NOW to make room for like, bikinis and things. Buy it now for cheap, and then it's a fun surprise for you when it gets cold again next year.
