Day 78: $6.97 pants!

Don't have a lot of time to write this post, as I am in the midst of preparing for the Depress-fun 1930s theme party.

Which outfit did I go with? Well, kind of this:

Katharine Hepburn!
I did not have a pair of menswear-inspired trousers like this. But, happily, I found a pair of pants for $6.97! And they are my size! Frugal win!

So anyway. My hair is currently setting in a kind of fingerwave thing:

And then my makeup will be inspired by a tutorial I found on Youtube of how to do 1930s "Cabaret" Kit Kat Club girl style makeup:

Willkomen, bienvenue, welcome...
So anyway. I've got to go finish up. Doing makeup and outfits like this is a great way to maximize use of my makeup (didn't have to buy anything!) and my wardrobe (and I'll wear the $6.97 pants more than just tonight).

So, being frugal doesn't mean you can't still be fabulous.

I have to say that is a freakishly hard era to dress for, congrats for pulling it off!

PS: Doing a Google image search for pretty much anything is a dangerous thing if you have a six year old sitting next to you. I learned the hard way.

Thanks! It was a fun challenge for sure. And it turns out that 1930s styles suit me better than my usual 1950s/60s looks anyway... hmm...

And ha! I totally agree about googling. I've had OMG moments when googling things for work *at* work!
